End of Season Asparagus sale $3 lb-Strawberries just days away!

We still have lots of tender tips asparagus for sale at just $3 per pound. We hope to open for strawberries later this week. Some are turning red, but not enough yet to open-keep checking our website. Your families have had too many events cancelled this spring, so don’t miss the fun of picking nutritious strawberries. Families are welcome. We will have a few adjustments for covid to keep people safe, but look forward to a good strawberry season. See you soon on the farm!

Since the recent rains, we have the best asparagus of the season available. And lots of it! Orders of 10 pounds and over will get a 10% discount. Strawberry season should be starting about the end of the third week of June. The berries look great so far and the field is loaded with blossoms. Hard freeze brings great opportunity!! Gormet tops available!!

If you want fresh asparagus for eating or freezing, tonight’s freezing temps bring a great opportunity! Today (Friday), we will be forced to cut all the asparagus spears to the ground, regardless of length. We normally only harvest when the spears reach 10 inches. Most of the longer stuff will go to stores, but there will be LOTS & LOTS (OVER 200 POUNDS) of short asparagus for sale today and Sunday. NO WASTE-JUST THE TENDER GORMET TOPS under 7 inches. Only $4 per pound. Great chance to freeze large quantities or just stock up for fresh eating. Best opportunity of the season while it lasts. (It will take about 5 days for the field to get back to harvestable length).

Monday, July 8 update

We are now closed for the season. So many people came out yesterday and helped us to glean the fields for the season that there is nothing left to pick. Thank you to so many people who came to pick this year. We are very thankful that we had a successful season in spite of an incredible amount of rain. We are grateful that God protected us from potentially devastating hail during this season also! We look forward to seeing you all next strawberry and asparagus seasons!
