Farm Updates

June 30, 2022

Barry Mosier

We will be closed Thursday for the field to ripen again and will open Friday morning at 7am as there are still lots of berries ripening in the field. They are good sized so the picking will be great tomorrow! We expect to be open through late morning/early afternoon.

People are saying there are house flies in the field. We recommend wearing long pants or bringing bug spray!

WEEKEND UPDATE: depending on how many people come tomorrow (Friday) we might be open on Sunday for picking. We will be closed on Saturday. We will have a solid plan on Friday afternoon so check back then!

Look forward to seeing you on the farm.

It will not be so hot today so you do not need to arrive so early to beat the heat even though we will opened at 7 AM.

We will be picking both Wendy and Jewel varieties today but will have no pre-picked berries for sale today. Unfortunately with late frost and early season heat many strawberry growers have experienced crop failure this year. We feel so blessed to have such a good crop although we have temporally reduced our acreage for strawberries compared to prior years. We will have a full 3 acres again next year.

There is an intense demand for pre-picked berries across the state this year and we are have been overwhelmed by the number of requests. We will be unable to take any more requests for pre-pick berries this year. If people can find someone to come and pick for them we will continue to offer the opportunity for people to pick in the fields until the season is completed.

We expect the season to go through the better part of this week, but it will be a short season.

Limited opening on wednesday

Barry Mosier

We will open again at 7 AM on Thursday for General u-pick.

Our main crop of berries (Jewel) will not be ready until Friday for lots of people to come and pick. However we are going to open tomorrow (Wednesday) for a limited picking for experienced pickers for 1 acre of our Jewel variety. A good number of the king berries are ripe, big, and beautiful. But they won’t make it until Friday when we will pick that variety.

We will to open Wednesday at 6 AM for experienced pickers (children under the age of 12 not recommended) to come and get all the ripe king berries out of the field so that they do not spoil before Friday. They are not thick in the field but you can still expect to get a good picking of the best berries of the season.

Please call or check our social media before you leave home to be sure we haven’t been picked out.

TuesdAy, June 21

We are closed today (Monday, June 20) to let the berries ripen. We will open at 7am on June 21. Please call or check our social media before you leave home to be sure we haven’t been picked out yet. It is likely we will only be open through mid-morning.
